Your Coding Agents,
Side by Side, on Your Machine
VersaLabs ADE is a planned desktop app for developers who run several AI coding agents at once. Your agents will sit side by side, each in a full terminal or a simple chat view, and ADE will tell you the moment one finishes or needs an answer.
Nothing has shipped yet. Free during the beta.
A Wall of Terminals
Developers who run several coding agents at once end up watching a wall of terminals, checking each one to see whether it has finished or is waiting on them.
ADE will put every agent in one window, and make the one that needs you the loudest thing on screen.
Built Around the Way You Run Agents
- Planned
Every Agent in One Window
Run the agent tools you already use side by side, in tabs, split panes and a layout you arrange. Your layout comes back the next time you open the app.
- Planned
Know the Moment an Agent Needs You
When an agent finishes, hits an error or stops to ask you something, its pane lights up, the sidebar shows a badge, a notification appears and the taskbar flashes. Click the notification to jump straight to that agent.
- Planned
Nothing Lost When You Close the App
Agents keep working when you close the window or update the app, and a tray icon shows which ones need you. After a restart, each agent picks its conversation back up.
- Planned
Chat or Terminal, Your Choice
Talk to an agent in a view that looks like a desktop chat app, then open the same conversation in its terminal, and switch back when you like.
- Planned
Agents That Don't Step on Each Other
Start each agent in its own copy of your project, on its own branch, so several can work at once without colliding.
- Planned
Review Every Change
Browse your project's files, read code, and see each agent's changes side by side or inline, compared with where it started.
- Planned
A Browser Beside Your Agents
Preview what your agents build in a browser pane inside the app, with developer tools and separate cookies for each project.
- Planned
A Sidebar That Sums It Up
Each project in the sidebar shows its branch, how far it is ahead or behind, its agents' status and their last line of output.
- Planned
Every Command From the Keyboard
One shortcut opens a command palette that lists every command with its keys.
Colour Only Where It Counts
WorkingViolet
A slow, gentle pulse while an agent works.
Needs YouAmber
A solid ring, a notification and a taskbar flash.
DoneGreen
A steady dot when an agent finishes.
ErrorRed
A ring and a notification.
IdleGrey
No ring. Nothing to see.
Yours, on Your Machine
- Planned
Your Tools, Your Accounts
ADE will open the agent tools you've already installed and signed in to, and never handle your sign-in.
- Planned
No Account to Create
There will be no ADE account to create or sign in to.
- Planned
No Tracking
ADE won't send usage data, and its logs and crash reports will stay on your computer.
- Planned
No Second Copy of Your Chats
ADE will read chat history from your agents' own files, and keep only what it needs to show them.
Made to Stay Out of Your Way
Sixteen Agents at Once
The target: stay smooth with sixteen agents streaming output side by side.
Quiet When Idle
The target: agents that sit idle cost next to nothing, with nothing redrawn but a blinking cursor and almost no processor time.
Windows First
Planned as a native desktop app for Windows first, with Mac and Linux versions to follow.
Software developers who run several AI coding agents at the same time, and want one place to watch and steer them, on their own computer.
Hear When It Ships
ADE hasn't shipped yet, and it will be free during the beta. Email us and we'll let you know when it's ready.
